Questions people actually ask
Is the Free plan really free?
Yes — free forever, no card required. One sender, ten supporters, unlimited texting from your own phone. It exists because a missionary just getting started shouldn't pay to thank ten people.
What counts as a "sender"?
A teammate with a login who sends messages. Viewers (board members, bookkeepers) are free on every plan.
What counts as a "supporter"?
An active person in your donor list. Archived contacts don't count.
Do you cap text messages?
Never. Every plan includes unlimited texting — relationships shouldn't be metered.
What does the giving page cost per donation?
DonorSend adds no platform fee — 0%. Donations go directly to your own Stripe account; only Stripe's standard card processing applies (2.9% + 30¢), and donors can choose to cover it.
How does the 14-day trial work?
Full access to the plan you pick, card up front, easy cancel — one tap in Settings, no phone calls, no retention scripts. Cancel inside 14 days and you pay nothing.
What's the difference between Growth and Launch?
Both include automated email marketing. Launch adds your organization's own phone number and automated texting: birthday, anniversary and scheduled group texts go out on their own, from your number. On Growth, every text is sent by hand, one tap at a time, from your own phone.
Is email marketing included?
Yes, on Growth and Launch: newsletters, appeals and automated email series, up to 20,000 emails a month. On Start-Up it is available as an add-on.
What's the dedicated texting number on Launch?
Your organization's own phone number inside DonorSend. Your whole team sends from it, automated texts go out from it, donor replies come back to a shared inbox, and carrier registration (the compliance paperwork texting platforms require) is handled automatically. It typically activates in 1–3 business days.
Can we bring our existing donors and giving history?
Yes — import donors and gifts from any CSV (Tithe.ly, Planning Center, Excel…). Columns match automatically and duplicates are skipped.
What if we grow or need to downgrade?
Change plans anytime. Upgrades are prorated to the day; downgrades take effect at your next renewal. Your data is never held hostage — export everything, always.
